The Los Angeles Women's Shakespeare Company is a not-for-profit theatrical company. As with many not for profit organizations, we depend on the kindness of our volunteers. We cannot run this company without them.
There are many ways that you can volunteer your time to help out the Los Angeles Women's Shakespeare Company. Throughout the year we hold fund raisers. We need people to help set up, run and clean up after these events. We also send out mailings several times each year. We always hold bulk mailing parties to sort, stamp and send to our huge mailing list.
One of our biggest needs for volunteers comes when we build the set for our main stage show each year. If you have power tools, GREAT! - bring them down. If you don't, GREAT! - come use ours. If you don't know how - come anyway, we'll teach you. If power tools aren't for you, come paint, or run errands, or push a broom. There is plenty for volunteers to do at all skill levels. It is all fun work and essential to our success as a company. Once the show is up, we can use volunteers to work backstage on the crew or to work the front of the house as ushers. Bottom line, we need you!
We've been fortunate at the LAWSC to have a wide range of individuals and talents help us throughout the years. From professional actors, artists and famous personalities to business people and students, the LAWSC has a stunning roster of supporters. You never know who will show up to a gala event or a set build or strike.
Due to our professionally skilled company members, directors, designers, choreographers, and managers, volunteers have found great opportunities to observe and learn about all aspects of theatrical production. LAWSC activities have proven to be an arena of empowerment, learning and self fulfillment for all involved.
